Rome Guided tour
Our relaxed guided tour will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of Rome and show you those hidden treasures that are usually missed by tourists. Our day in the Eternal City, of course focuses on food and wine. We visit its traditional food markets, specialist food shops and wine bars. On the way, we’ll have a chance to see Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, the best preserved ancient Roman temple dedicated to all gods. For lunch we stop at a Trattoria close to Trastevere, to taste the flavours of true Roman home cooking. Guido and Sally will take you to one of their favourite trattorias, miraculously unspoilt by tourism and still very authentic, practically unchanged since the 1950s. This will be an experience in itself.
There is no better time to visit Rome than now, as most of its palaces and monuments have been recently restored. During the last decade Rome transformed itself from an open-air museum to a culturally vibrant city, with numerous important art exhibitions organised all year round. Rome is unique in the sense that it’s been continuously inhabited for 2,700 years. This explains why there are an incredible number of monuments and works of art here in Rome.
During our day tour we visit Campo dei Fiori, one of the oldest fruit and vegetables markets in Rome. From early morning, this ancient piazza becomes alive with the buzz of vendors selling and buyers bargaining to get the best price for the freshest produce. It is the ideal place to discuss the different varieties of fruit and vegetables, with their distinctive shape, colours and flavours, that are only available from the Roman countryside and central Italy. Many stalls  of beautiful flowers, wild herbs and dried spices fill the piazza with  an amazing mixture of smells. They say your sense of smell has the longest memory.

Alternatively, you can go shopping or visit a particular site, museum or exhibition that you have in mind. The choice is yours.
